My mom is constantly yelling at me to 'put those things away'. Those things happen to be any of the kajillion pair of earbuds I have and use like every day which is why they are all over the place and Big Momma gets sooo angry.
Why do I have a kajillion pair? Because I think I have tiny ears and I can never find a pair that fit snugly and will stay put while I am doing whatever. (Not so cool to be jamming to your tunes with your earbud randomly popping out of your ear every time you blink)
So I gave in and put them all away to please my mother. LOL, not really but it sounds good doesn't it?! The real reason I don't need all those other pairs anymore is because I have found my true love (in earbud form) with this mad adorbs wireless pair that the sweet peeps at Sudio Sweden were nice enough to send me so I can try them out.

First of all, you know how I feel about pink and they come in this shade that should have been named "Pidge" because they go with EVERYTHING I own! Total bonus is they look like they were made to match my new phone cover from Style Collective. They also come with the cutest little pouch so that you can store them safely and out of reach of any brat little brothers that you might have stalking your stuff like some of us do! :(
And just so that you don't think I'm all about the surface of things and never focus on the inside, the sound is crazy AMAAAZE! I couldn't understand how something that didn't even plug into my phone (did I mention that the VASA buds are wireless which would make them perfect if someone happened to get a new iPhone 7 for Christmas. Yes, that's a hint for whoever is reading!) could make it sound like I was at an actual real live  concert but they honestly do!
Don't believe the word of the Pidge herself? Then try them out yourself and let me know what you think! Use code HELLOPIDGE at Sudio Sweden checkout to get 15% off your purchase!

Hello December

SKIRT Diane von Furstenberg BAG Roots / SUNGLASSES Ray-Ban

I'm a little late saying 'hello' to December. We've all taken turns being sick at my house. I came home on Monday to find my little brother hugging a bucket and holding on for life! I've never seen a real person look that green in the face. Between the cold germs bombing my family, trying to get my Christmas shopping done and keeping up with school, I've barely had time to breathe but I couldn't let this week go by without saying hello.
It has finally gotten really cold here so this is probably the last time you will see my kneecaps make an appearance for a long time. Soak it all in (ha ha!) and tell me, what fun things are you doing this weekend?

CURRENTLY LOVING The J.Crew Holiday Edition

1. earrings / 2. scarf / 3. wristlet / 4. moccasins / 5. boots / 6. sunglasses / 7. emergency kit
8. ring / 9. locket / 10. beanie / 11. tote / 12. pyjamas / 13. necklace / 14. socks

My mom is always bugging me to write up a 'wish list' before Christmas. I used to write one in my letter to Santa when I was little but I can never bring myself to make one up anymore.
Usually, I don't like to tell people what I would like them to buy me, it makes me uncomfortable. Maybe it's because my dear Madre (she hates that LOL!) has taught me since I was little that a person should always be thankful for any gift that someone is nice enough to give them so I always kind of feel bad to ask for specific things.
Everywhere I've turned this week, I've seen 'wishlists' made for everyone and anyone. Foodies, boyfriends, the mailman, your dog Sparky, you name it so I thought maybe this might be a good way for me to put together a list of stocking-stuffers I'd like and still feel like I'm not being rude.
So here you go, my first wish list AND from one of my favourite stores, J. Crew!

Baby It's Cold Outside

SWEATER Gap / JEANS American Eagle / SCARF Indigo HAT Roots

I'll never learn my lesson.
For the last two months, I've been complaining and complaining that it was too hot and I couldn't wait till sweater weather came back. Well, it's come back alright, along with coat, boots and wool hat weather! It started snowing on Saturday and it's been crazy cold for the last few days. I know Canadians are supposed to love the snow and winter but this little Canadian is the exception to the rule!
How many more days till summer is back????

Did you notice this tree has a creepy face????

Scalloped Flats...and a Confession

AMERICAN EAGLE shirt (similar here) // GAP jeans // KENNETH COLE flats (similar here)  // OLD NAVY sunglasses (similar here)  // BOHO BETTY bracelet

I'm going to get real here, I drove my mother crazy all summer long.
And not for the usual reasons kids drive their parents crazy when they are home on vacation. I came across a pair of flats I had to have, these ones right here! Problem was that they were almost 450 bucks.
You probably have the same look on your face that my mother had once she realized how much they were (on second thought, no, I don't think I've ever seen anyone have THAT LOOK on their face ever)
Okay so it was hard for me to convince her to change her mind. I get it, it's s a lot of money and I'm still a kid who will grow out of them before the year is up so even though I bugged her ALL summer, I realized I should put that dream to bed and let it go...for now.
You see, I always believe that if you really want something, you need to focus and believe and don't stop believing until you reach your goal!
It has never failed me before and it didn't fail me now because even though the flats I fell in love with were crazy expensive, don't you know that I found almost the exact same flats for under forty bucks! They're not real leather or as soft as I imagine the Chloe flats are but they have those same cute little scallops that I LOVE and as long as you keep my little secret, no one will be the wiser!

All Packed Up

I have been begging my mom for a new backpack. I know what you're going to say "School just started and you need a new backpack already?"

I'm not looking for that kind of backpack, I'm talking about a backpack that I can take with me everywhere BUT school! Something cool that will go with any look I come up with like this one that just happens to be my fav! I love this style because it is so simple, just throw everything you need to take with you in there and you are ready to go.
What is your go-to bag style?

What To Do When You Have To Phone A Friend at Home

TOP Old Navy // PHONE Crosley

Most kids have their own phones now but there are still times when you have to call someone who doesn't have a cell phone of their own and speak to a parent first. If my friends want to call and speak to me, they have to call my house (my cell phone is for emergencies only) and since my mom wants to know who is calling for me, they will have to speak to her when she picks up the phone. Talking on the phone always made me a little nervous and having to speak to an adult made it even worse!
I was never sure what I was supposed to say and didn't want to sound like a baby so my mom helped me practice making phone calls and helped me figure out just what to say and how to say it politely.

Start by saying hello and say it with a smile.
It's funny but people can tell when you are smiling even if all they can do is hear your voice.

Always identify yourself and why you're calling.
Speak your name and request clearly. For example: “Hello Mrs. Brown, this is Maddy, may I speak with Fiona please?” If you don't recognize the person on the other line and they don't offer that information to you, don't ask them who they are, just skip that part and still give your name and who you are calling for.

Pay attention.
It's important to listen carefully too. It's embarrassing to be caught not paying attention especially if you're already nervous about being on the phone to begin with. Stop whatever you might be doing (like playing on your iPad or fighting with your brother!) and focus on the conversation.

Leave a message.
If the friend you are calling for is having dinner or doing their homework, they might not be available and you will have to leave a message. Leave your name and your telephone number with the person who has answered the phone. Don’t mumble or leave a really long message. Chances are the person on the line is either a busy parent or a sibling and in that case, you'll be lucky if your friend actually ends up getting the message at all. (LOL!)

Keep your promise.
If you told a friend you would call at a certain time, call them as you promised, even if you can't talk at that time. Just say "I can't really talk right now because..." and then tell them when you will call them later. It's not nice to make a friend wait around for your call, especially if it has to do with homework or something that happened at school because they might be busy too.

Mistakes happen.
If you accidentally called a wrong number, be polite and apologize. It's not nice to just hang up. You can say "I'm sorry, I must have the wrong number. Goodbye"

Parents always want to feel like they can teach you something so ask them to help you practice 'making phone calls' before you take it on your own for the first time.
Do you get nervous when you have to make a phone call?
What do you do to make it your phone calls go smoothly?
